SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane announced Chief Financial Officer Tonya Wallace resigned on Wednesday.

Wallace will stay in her role until Jan. 15 and will help with the transition as needed. Mayor Lisa Brown appointed Matt Boston to fill the role.

"I am proud of the many great accomplishments of the team of professionals, dedicated leaders, and staff within the Division of Finance and Administration that will continue to serve and support the City’s numerous departments. It was a great privilege to work with them and many others in the community,” Wallace said.

Boston worked as the city's Budget and Finance Director for the City of Spokane since 2021. He previously worked in public accounting for government and non-profit organizations.

“I’m honored to be working with Mayor Brown. I look forward to continuing to serve the City of Spokane. I will be focused on collaboration and finding innovative solutions to the budgetary challenges Spokane has faced the past few years,” Boston said.
