SPOKANE, Wash — The Spokane International Airport announced that more than 800 new parking spots are now available for travelers ahead of what the airport expects to be a busy holiday season.
The newly expanded outdoor lot near Concourse C includes 1,615 total parking spaces, which is more than double its capacity from last holiday travel season. The lot also features 27 ADA-designated parking stalls and 10 electric vehicle charging stalls.
“The successful completion of the Concourse C Parking Lot Expansion Project is yet another example of the Airport team’s strategic foresight,” said Ezra Eckhardt, Spokane Airport Board Chair. “Last November, we opened the first phase of the Concourse C Parking Lot Expansion – which added more than 460 new spots to the lot. Because we have a high parker- to-enplanement ratio the staff has worked to ensure that projects like this are implemented to accommodate both peak travel period demand as well as overall growth as our airline partners add seat capacity to our market.”
The $5,970,413 million project was designed by engineering firm KimleyHorn Associates and constructed by Spokane-based Halme Construction, Inc.
“As the region’s air transportation gateway, we serve passengers from across three states and two Canadian Provinces many of whom drive considerable distances to use our airport,” said Larry Krauter, Spokane Airports CEO. “Ensuring that we have adequate parking capacity is an important part of maintaining an exceptional passenger experience for those passengers that choose to park a vehicle with us. I want to thank Kimley-Horn and Halme Construction for their dedication and partnership in making what we know will be another welcome addition to our parking options available to travelers this holiday season and beyond.”
The current rate for the Concourse C lot is $9 per day. The airport also provides several additional parking options for short- and long-term parking preferences, including 2,476 garage spaces, 2,150 outside lot spaces and 3,240 economy lot spaces.
The airport reminds travelers that they should arrive at the airport two hours before their scheduled boarding time to allow ample time to park, check-in, proceed through the security checkpoint and prepare for boarding.
