More South Hill fires reported by Spokane Fire Department

The fire department confirmed two fires broke out behind the ACE building Wednesday night.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Fire Department confirmed another string of fires happened on the South Hill Wednesday night.

The fire department confirmed that two fires broke out behind the ACE Hardware store on South Regal Street. The fire department said both fires were small and there was no damage left from the fires. SFD is actively investigating the fire.

The fire department said District 8 responded to a fire that broke out behind KREM 2 News. The fire department could not confirm if the fires were related or not.

This comes following the arrest of a teenager suspected of starting a number of fires in the South Hill area. The Spokane Police Department arrested the 13-year-old for second-degree arson and first-degree malicious mischief.

Police said one of the fires was at a carwash and resulted in around $160,000 in damages.
