SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho — Popular Shoshone County restaurant, The Snake Pit announced via social media they have officially reopened.

Open in 1880, The Snake Pit has long been a favorite of North Idaho residents and out-of-towners alike. According to its website, The Snake Pit "has continued to serve its customers through fire, floods and fluctuations in the mining industry." The restaurant is known across the Inland Northwest as the only restaurant in the area that serves rocky mountain oysters.

Located east of Coeur d'Alene, the restaurant temporarily shut down in February after new owners bought the establishment.
