SPOKANE, Wash. — Kids at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital received an early gift this holiday season. On Tuesday morning, Seattle Seahawks players Tre Brown, Jerrick Reed and mascot Blitz headed to Spokane to bring holiday cheer.
The Seahawks players visited the general pediatric unit, the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and other parts of the hospital to visit patients and their families.
"Just to be able to give back, to reach out to people who, you know, don't have much or are going through some tough times, you know, bring that Christmas joy, that joy in general, and just bring a smile to their face, it means a lot to me," Seattle Seahawk, Jerrick Reed said.
The entire hospital was eager to see the Seahawks stars in person.
"We appreciate you guys even though you're not in Seattle with us," said Seattle Seahawk Tre Brown. "We know you're a part of the fan base, part of the family, and we appreciate the support always."
Passing out special Seahawk souvenir teddy bears, hugs and words of encouragement, Sacred Heart Children's Hospital was full of cheer after the Seahawks flew home after their surprise visit.
The Seattle Seahawks take on the Los Angeles Rams at 1:25 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 19) on KREM 2 NEWS - CBS.
