SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — This Fourth of July, several fireworks shows are planned around Spokane County and the rest of the Inland Northwest. The shows are meant to provide a safe way to enjoy fireworks, which are illegal in most of Spokane County.
Despite a fireworks ban, many people will still light their own fireworks illegally. Depending on how they are set off, these fireworks can be a nuisance or dangerous.
Spokane County has established an online and phone system to report nuisance fireworks.
How to report fireworks in Spokane County
Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) asks people to use their online fireworks tool or unique phone line to report annoying fireworks, keeping regular lines clear for emergencies.
If there is a threat to life or property, call 911 immediately. SREC shares these examples of an emergency situation with fireworks:
- Smoke or fire at location
- Fireworks being aimed / shot at people or property
- Children setting off fireworks in a dry field
If your fireworks complaint is not an emergency, use one of these methods:
- Online reporting: Click here to access the online form to report fireworks. The form will be available after 6:00 p.m. on July 4.
- Your report will be logged and the appropriate jurisdiction will be made aware.

Fireworks are illegal in the following cities across Spokane County
- Spokane
- Spokane Valley
- Liberty Lake
- Millwood
- Cheney
- Unincorporated parts of Spokane County
Medical Lake also suspended fireworks for the rest of the year.
In Airway Heights, lighting off fireworks is permitted only on private property between the hours of 8 p.m. and midnight on the Fourth of July. Lighting off fireworks in public parks, roadways, sidewalks or other public property is not permitted.

- Bottle rockets
Illegal use or possession of fireworks can result in fines of up to $536 for each violation.
