Spokane police make arrest in North Spokane armed robbery case

A man accused of robbing the same convenience store twice was arrested on August 23.
Police have not found the suspect at this time. SPD describes the suspect as a white man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police arrested a suspect accused of two armed robberies at one convenience store in North Central Spokane.

The Spokane Police Department says officers with SPD SWAT teams and the Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Joshua R. Stricker, 22, on August 23 around midnight from an apartment on West Cora Avenue.

SPD says the first robbery took place on July 19 and the second on August 21. Investigators connected Stricker to these two robberies as well as another robbery on August 13.

SPD says investigators applied for and were granted a search warrant to enter the location. Several units went to the apartment to arrest Stricker and attempted to call out to him and use the nearby PA systems to establish contact.

After several hours of no response, SPD says gas was used to force Stricker out of the apartment and he was arrested.

Stricker is being held at Spokane County Jail while SPD continues to investigate.
