Spokanimal shelters packed, over 70 dogs up for adoption

If you are interested in pet adoption, you might want to visit your local PetSmart for National Adoption weekend.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokanimal leaders say their shelters are packed due to the sunny warm weather.

Dogs are out in the yard making it a little easier to get away from their owners. If they end up on the streets in many places throughout the country, shelters are very full.

Spokanimal leaders said on Friday they had over 70 dogs up for adoption.

If you are interested in pet adoption, you might want to visit your local PetSmart for National Adoption weekend. PetSmart hosts major adoption events four times a year.

With that in mind the rescue agencies that fly and transport dogs to different shelters are able to fly and drive the pets to different places.

Wings of Rescue, Dog is our Co-Pilot and other groups call Spokanimal and ask if they can make a delivery. Spokanimal doesn't say no and the animals end up in the Spokane area.

The flights and truck deliveries can make it into the area because the weather has been good.
