One woman in serious condition after shooting in Spokane Valley

According to the SVPD, on Sunday at 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to the Spokane Valley Hospital for reports of one person with a gunshot wound.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — One woman is in the hospital in serious but stable condition Monday after a shooting in Spokane Valley near S. Pines Road. 

According to the Spokane Valley Police Department (SVPD), on Sunday at 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to the Spokane Valley Hospital for reports of one person with a gunshot wound.

The woman told authorities that she met up with people earlier Monday and when another group of people arrived she was shot as she was getting up to go to work. According to SVPD, the woman left the area and called a friend, who then dropped her off at the hospital.

Major Crimes Detectives are investigating the shooting. After the initial investigation, one man and two women were inside an apartment, the woman began to argue which escalated into a physical altercation. The man tried to break up the fight when one of the women shot the other. The man then drove the woman to the hospital and the other woman left the apartment. 

No arrests have been made, and SVPD said there is no threat to the public.
