OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. -- The Okanogan County Sheriff's Office said Friday two victims were killed in a plane crash that sparked a fire near Oroville.

Fire personnel found the wreckage of a plane crash while responding to a fire call on Thursday. Officials said the bodies of the victims were removed from the crash site Friday afternoon.

Authorities said they have identified the occupants of the crash but they are not releasing the names at this time. Officials are meeting with the victims' families. Deputies said the two killed in the crash flew out of the Oroville Airport Thursday and they live in the area.

Officials said the plane involved was Cessna T182 and was destroyed during the crash.

Several fires started near the site of the crash, according to the Omak Chronicle. Officials said the fires were contained to the immediate area.

Several more units were ordered to the area and are investigating exactly what happened. The wreckage was found on Rise Road off Chesaw Road.

The investigation is ongoing.
