SEATTLE (AP) - Someone is passing counterfeit cash in two Northwest Washington counties.
KOMO-TV reported that three times since March 18th, funny money was passed at the Shell Gas Station and Food Mart in Anacortes, in Skagit County.
The Clallam County Sheriff's Office said that local and tribal law enforcement have received a rash of reports from local businesses receiving fake currency. They said some of the bills have the same serial number. Ten and 20-dollar bills are most prevalent.
In Skagit County, Shell station manager Dodie Compton tells KOMO-TV that she spotted fake cash two other times last week and again this week.
A video at the Shell station captured a man in his 20s who tried to buy coffee with a fake $10 bill. Police are circulating the video in the hopes of catching the man.
