LEWISTON, Idaho – On Wednesday, police identified the victims killed at a home in Lewiston Tuesday morning.
Richard Carlin was arrested in Umatilla, Oregon Tuesday in connection to the murders.
Officials said Raetta Dee Carlin, 72, the suspect’s ex-wife, and Michelle Lynn Carlin, 50, the suspects daughter, were found dead in a home on the 600 block of Preston. They said the results of the autopsies are pending, but blunt force trauma and strangulation are the suspected causes of death. The third victim, Jonathan Michael Spaeth, 20, the son of Michelle, was treated for a knife wound to his back and hands at a hospital and was released.
Richard was arrested for a warrant through Nez Perce County on two counts of homicide and one count of attempted homicide. He is being held on $1 million bond and waiting extradition from Oregon to Idaho.
