SPOKANE -- A local skier spent22 hoursin 20 degree weather trying to get down Mt. Spokane to safety.
Wayne Schuh, 66,started skiing off a trail Saturday morningand became disoriented. He called a friend about 10:20 a.m. anddescribed the area.The Ski Patrol and Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies then mounted asearcheffort until heavy snowset in Saturday night. They found hisvehicle near Lodge One, but no sign of Schuh. He was hiking down the mountain and eventually spotted a home off of Blanchard Creek Rd. at about 8:30 Sundaymorning.
Deputies tell KREM2 NewsSchuh was cold and wet, but declined medical treatment.
