SPOKANE, Wash. — The Minnehaha Neighborhood Council is hosting a neighborhood clean-up to help restore their tennis court at the Minnehaha Park at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 9.

The tennis court's current appearance consists of graffiti, as well as grown-out patches of weeds that are disrupting the ground structure.

The council is partnering with the City Parks Department., Solid Waste, city council member Jonathan Bingle, and local paint company Benjamin Moore to set up a beautification event to restore the tennis court.

The goal of the project is to bring the community together to maintain safe and inviting spaces in the park, City of Spokane Communications Manager Brian Walker said.

There are more than 30 volunteers who will be present Sunday at Minnehaha Park. Volunteers will be using paint that was donated for the project.
