MOSCOW, Idaho — A man was arrested on Wednesday night and charged with attempted homicide after he allegedly stabbed his father multiple times.
The Moscow Police Department (MPD) said officers were dispatched to a reported stabbing around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday near North Washington Street.
MPD said the caller told dispatchers they heard a commotion and when they entered the living room, saw the victim restraining the suspect on the ground.
MPD said when officers arrived at the scene the 35-year-old suspect was taken into custody and the 73-year-old victim was taken to Gritman Medical Center by ambulance to be treated for multiple stab wounds. MPD says the victim is in stable condition.
MPD said on Thursday afternoon that the suspect was identified as Dylan Thompson and is the son of the victim, identified as Joseph Thompson.
Dylan Thompson is being held at the Latah County Jail and is being charged with attempted second-degree murder and burglary.
