SANDPOINT, Idaho — A man was arrested in Sandpoint on Saturday, Nov. 2 after police responded to a report of kidnapping and rape.
According to the City of Sandpoint, officers from the Sandpoint Police Department responded to a call from someone who had received text messages from a victim indicating that they were being held against their will and sexually assaulted.
SPD reportedly located the victim and began an investigation, which led police to three men who were supposedly involved.
The city reports that two of the men were transported by border patrol agents to verify their immigration status while the third, 21-year-old Josue E Vado-Urbina, was identified as the suspect and arrested on charges of kidnapping and rape.
The city says Vado-Urbina is currently being held at the Bonner County Jail and the police are continuing their investigation.
