SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police are searching for a suspect after a man was shot and killed in the Logan neighborhood.
According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), the homicide victim was found in the yard of a home in the 2400 block of North Hamilton Street.
Family members confirmed with KREM 2 that the victim is 30-year-old Dylan McCorkle.
The shooting was reported shortly after 2 a.m. Friday.
SPD said they believe the shooting was not random and likely an isolated incident.
People in the Logan neighborhood said this shooting is another fear that their neighborhood isn't safe.
“There’s a neighborhood watch team here, but we’re all concerned about safety here basically," said neighbor Roy Pena. Pena is also worried that police are stretched thin because of all the crimes and incidents that have happened this week.
The shooting occurred two blocks away from Logan Elementary School.
SPD said McCorkle's manner of death will be released by the medical examiner's office at a later time.
