SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown has ordered flags at all city facilities to be lowered to half-staff in remembrance of Congressman George Nethercutt.
“Congressman Nethercutt grew up in Spokane and went on to proudly serve the people of the Washington 5th congressional district for 10 years,” Mayor Brown said. “I encourage anyone with a flag outside of their home or business to join us in this recognition to honor his memory.”
Flags will remain at half-staff until close of business day on July 23.
Gonzaga University’s Hemmingson Center will host a memorial service for Nethercutt on Tuesday, July 23 at 1 p.m.
