Structure fire in Princeton, Idaho leaves one dead and another in the hospital

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Idaho State Fire Marshall.

LATAH COUNTY, Idaho — One person is dead after a fire tore through a structure in Princeton, Idaho on Saturday, January 27.

Deputies from the Latah County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Potlach Fire Department responded to the fire that broke out just after 9:15 at night in the 1100 block of McKinneyville Road on January 27.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they helped transport one person to the hospital by Life Flight. After the fire was put out, one person was found dead inside the building.

Sheriff’s detectives and a member of the Idaho State Fire Marshall were on scene on January 28 to investigate the fire and the person’s death.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Idaho State Fire Marshall.
