MOSCOW, Idaho – The Latah County Prosecutor said Monday he does not expect Moscow shooting spree suspect, John Lee, to be extradited to Idaho until March.
Lee is accused of killing three people and injuring one other in a shooting spree on January 10. Then, leading police on a high speed chase into Washington.
The prosecutor said he is prepared to wait for Lee's extradition. He said Whitman County needs to resolves its case against Lee before he can be brought to Idaho. In Whitman County, Lee is facing a felony eluding charge and is being held on $500,000 bail. His trial for that charge is set for March 16.
He does have a extradition hearing set for February 17.
The Latah County Prosecutor said he plans to file paperwork with Governor Butch Otter's office Tuesday, asking for Lee's extradition.
Moscow Police are still waiting for forensics on Lee's laptop and camcorder. Both electronics are being looked at by a Lewiston Police detective. They are also looking for a motive in the case. They believe it might have been some type of falling out with his family.
