COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho -- A new Boys and Girls Club is opening in Coeur d’Alene after it was determined there was a dire need for a new facility in Kootenai County.
The Post Falls Boys and Girls club had to turn away hundreds of children every year due to lack of funds and limited space.
It took supporters just minutes to donate the $3 million needed for the new facility.
Duane and Lola Hagadone saw firsthand the need for a new Boys and Girls Club and donated $2 million. The new building is named after the Hagadones. The community raised the remaining money.
A majority of supplies and appliances have been donated, but director Ryan Davis said there is still a need for more.
On Friday, everyone is welcome to attend an open house at the new facility at 925 North 15th Street. The open house will run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
