KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — Voters in Idaho are preparing to fill out their ballots in the coming days. There are two key dates next week for voters to keep in mind. First, the Idaho Primary Election will be held on May 21st.
The 2024 primary will include races that are focused on state and county level elections. Historically, the primary is always held in even numbered years on the third Tuesday in May. Whichever candidates receive the most votes during this primary election will go on to run in the general election in November.
Polls will be open from 8 a.m. through 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21.
The second date to remember is May 23, where at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds the Kootenai County Democrats will host their presidential caucus. The caucus is for registered democrats and unaffiliated voters who will decide who Idaho will support for the democratic nominee for President of the United States.
Voters will have to confirm once they check in that they did not participate in the Republican Presidential Caucus that was held on March 2.
Unlike the presidential primaries that are run and paid for by the state, caucuses are run by the separate parties.
