Two former Silverwood Theme Park employees are accused of embezzling almost $1 million from the company over a decade, court documents said.
Melissa Foeller made a court appearance Friday afternoon on five charges of grand theft. Her bond was set at $50,000.
In a bail memorandum filed Friday, Kootenai County Prosecutor Barry McHugh said Foeller worked with her direct supervisor, former Silverwood Director of Finance Christopher Wyatt, to embezzle nearly $1 million while she was a payroll accountant. Court documents said the embezzlement started in 2008. According to Linkedin, Foeller left her job at Silverwood in October 2017.
KREM 2 reached out to Silverwood for comment on the arrest. A spokesperson said they don’t comment on current or former employees.
As of Friday afternoon, Foeller was still in the Kootenai County Jail. Wyatt has not yet been arrested, according to court records.
