POST FALLS, Idaho -- A Post Falls camp that serves kids with cancer won a $25,000 grant from State Farm to send childhood cancer survivors to camp for one week.
Camp Journey at Ross Point stayed in the top 40 in the State Farm Neighborhood Assist competition to win. The camp is located in Post Falls and provides resident and Day Camp to children touched by childhood cancer.
The organization said the money will help them continue to provide the service free of charge to young cancer survivors. The cost of attending camp is at about $860 per camper which covers providing food, shelter, and the supplies needed to keep the camp open.
The community typically brings together over 75 volunteers each year to make the camp happen, and the $25,000 would help make sure they can provide the service free of charge to survivors and their families.
