2 women walked away from IDOC custody

Sarah Zumwalt and Katy Buchanan were last on prison property at roughly 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, said IDOC.

BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) is looking for two residents of the South Boise Women's Correctional Center who walked away from the facility on Sunday night. 

Sarah Zumwalt and Katy Buchanan were last on prison property at roughly 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, said IDOC. 

Zumwalt is 37-years-old, 4 feet 11 inches tall, and weighs roughly 150 pounds. She has green eyes and strawberry blonde hair. According to IDOC, her criminal history includes a conviction for possession of a controlled substance in Kootenai County. Her sentence was supposed to be completed Feb. 23, 2029. 

Buchanan is 30-years-old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighs roughly 170 lbs. She has hazel eyes and dark blonde hair. Her conviction was similar to Zumwalt's, with a charge of possession of a controlled substance in Kootenai County, according to IDOC. Her sentenced was supposed to be completed by Feb. 29, 2028. 

Anyone with information about the women's location should call 911.
