SANDPOINT, Idaho — A Sandpoint farmer won $2,000,000 in the Idaho Powerball on Monday night.

Nathan Wood bought two Powerball Tickets and two Mega Millions tickets at Arnie's Payless Gas in Kootenai County. His wife called him after the drawing and told him their numbers matched the Powerball drawings. Their ticket missed the Powerball number, but still left the couple with $2,000,000.

“She told me we had matched all five of the white balls on Powerball,” said Wood. “I couldn’t believe it. And then, I went back to planting onions.”

Wood later said he called his accountant and gathered his paperwork before going to Boise to claim the $2,000,000 prize. The farmer said he'll fix the fuel pump on his truck and use his new winnings to make investments for the future. Arnie's Payless Gas will also get $25,000 for selling the winning ticket.
