COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Coeur d’Alene firefighters are hitting the pavement in a fight against hunger. Coeur d’Alene Firefighters Local 710 are hosting their annual food drive for back to school from September 1-7.

Firefighters will trade their firefighting gear for a vintage fire truck to drive around in the community in hopes of getting food donations.

“This isn’t just a drive; it’s a full-throttle community effort,” said Local 710 spokesperson, Firefighter Darren Tolan. “We’ve seen incredible generosity during our Christmas drives, collecting hundreds of thousands of pounds of food over the past decade.
