OROFINO, Idaho — The Idaho State Police is investigating a crash that happened on Wednesday morning on US-12 near Orofino that killed one person and sent another to the hospital.
ISP says a pickup truck was traveling westbound on US12 near milepost 39 when it drifted across the eastbound lane and drove into a ditch, resulting in a rollover crash.
ISP says the truck was occupied by a 67-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman, both from Orofino. Both people were injured and transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance. ISP says the man died at the hospital.
The highway was partially blocked for approximately 30 minutes while first responders investigated the scene. ISP says both people were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, Clearwater County Ambulance Service and Idaho Transportation Department assisted with the incident. ISP says the crash remains under investigation.
