KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — Sheriff deputies in North Idaho are investigating after a group of hunters found human remains in the Twin Lakes area.
According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office (KCSO), deputies responded to the Timber Ridge Road area just before 10 a.m. on Sunday after a group of hunters found the remains on their private property.
KCSO said it appears the remains had been there for many months before being found.
The identity of the remains and the cause of death are unknown.
KCSO said they're investigating and will provide more details as the investigation continues.
