With the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics Sunday night, let's check back in on how the athletes from the Inland Northwest did at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Trinity Rodman 🥇

Trinity Rodman helped Team USA's Women's soccer team take home the gold for the first time in 21 years. Team USA won in a nail-biting match against Brazil, winning 1-0.

Rodman was tied for the fourth-highest scorer for women's soccer at the Paris Olympics. She and fellow USA teammate Sophia Smith both scored and finished with three goals and one assist.

Trinity Rodman was signed to the Washington State women's soccer team in 2019.

COVID canceled her rookie season for the Cougs, so Rodman decided to forgo her collegiate career and go pro. She was drafted second overall in the 2021 National Women's Soccer League draft by the Washington Spirit.

Sunny Greinacher 🥇

Sunny Greinacher brought home the gold medal for Team Germany's 3x3 Women's Basketball team.

In the final game against Spain, she scored the most points with five under he belt, helping secure the gold in the tight 16-15 win.

Greinacher is a former Gonzaga Bulldog who played with the women's basketball team from 2011 to 2014.

Mark Few 🥇

Mark Few is adding a "gold medal" to his decorated coaching resume, as he helped guide the United States Men’s Basketball team to its fifth consecutive gold medal in a 98-87 win over France.

Now, coaches don't actually get official medals from the International Olympic Committee like the athletes do. But Few gets to add this to his long list of accolades as a coach.

Few was also an assistant coach at the 2018 USA National Team minicamp and for the 2019 USA Men's Select Team. He came back in 2021 as an assistant coach for the USA Men's Select Team ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

Filip Petrusev 🥉

Filip Petrusev helped Team Serbia's Men's Basketball team win the bronze medal in his Olympic debut in Paris.

Petrusev had the second most rebounds per game with 4.5 rebounds and the third-highest efficiency per game with 13.3. His teammate and two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic held the records for efficiency, rebounds, points, and assists per game.

Petrusev is a former Gonzaga Bulldog, he played for the men's basketball team from 2018 to 2020.

Louie Hinchliffe 🥉

Louie Hinchliffe secured the bronze medal in the Men's 4x100m Relay for Great Britain at his Olympic debut in Paris.

Hinchliffe and the three other British runners finished the relay in 37.61 seconds. That is just .04 seconds behind South Africa, who took home the silver medal.

Hinchliffe also ran the Men's 100m race, but he did not medal.

Hinchliffe is a former Washington State Cougar. He only spent his freshman year in Pullman, but in that time, he set several program records including in the 60-meter and 100-meter dash.

Rui Hachimura

Rui Hachimura played for Team Japan's Men's Basketball team for his second Olympic appearance in Paris this summer.

While Japan's Men's Basketball team was eliminated during the group stages, Hachimura led the team in points per game with 22.0 points.

Hachimura is a former Gonzaga Bulldog who played for the men's basketball team from 2016 to 2019.

He was drafted 9th overall in the 2019 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards. Last year, the Wizards traded Hachimura to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Josh Hawkinson

Josh Hawkinson played alongside fellow Inland Northwest athlete Rui Hachimura on Team Japan's Men's Basketball team.

Hawkinson led the team in highest efficiency per game with 24.7 and the most rebounds per game with 9.7 rebounds. Team Japan, however, was eliminated during the group stages.

Hawkinson played for the Washington State men's basketball from 2013 to 2016. According to the Washington State men's basketball record book, the former Coug is the all-time leader in rebounds with 334.
