GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — A missing persons case in Colorado is sadly close to home for some in the Moses Lake area.
Kelsey Berreth, a 29-year-old mother, has been missing since Thanksgiving. She was last seen shopping with her young daughter at a Safeway in Colorado, where she now lives.
The same day Berreth went missing, she exchanged her daughter with her fiancé. Family said suitcases, cars and makeup insider her home were untouched.
Since her disappearance, her phone has been pinged in Southern Idaho. She once lived in Grant County - and her mother reportedly lives near Sandpoint, Idaho. Berreth’s mother has described her disappearance as surprising and very out of character.
Clinton Meharry served as the family’s church pastor before they moved in 2015. He says it’s been a hard time for many in their congregation.
“In every meeting or every different conversation, lots of people are expressing prayer support and are praying together,” Meharry said.
Meharry said that Berreth is a good hearted person. It’s not clear why something like this would happen to her.
So far, investigators in Colorado are treating this as a missing person case. Berreth’s daughter is with her fiancé, who is cooperating with authorities.
It’s worth noting that Berreth is a flight instructor, but no planes are missing from the facility where she works.
