GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — Around 13 children in grades 3-8 have been taken to hospitals in the Tri-cities following a crash between a Wahluke School District school bus and a pickup truck near Mattawa.
Deputies with the Grant County Sheriff's Office said none of the children's injuries are life-threatening, but the driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Grant County Sheriff's Office said the crash occurred at Road 27-SW and Road O-SW. According to deputies, the school bus was t-boned after the pickup failed to stop at a stop sign. The bus flipped and reportedly slid down several feet. The sheriff's office said it will post more updates via Facebook.
All other students have been picked up by their parents, according to the sheriff's office.
