SPOKANE, Wash. — One of the oldest cosmetology schools in Spokane will permanently shut its doors next month.
Glen Dow Academy announced via Facebook the school will permanently close on March 8, 2024. The school said current students will be given the opportunity to complete their education at Studio Beauty School in Spokane Valley.
The school has been a Spokane institution for 55 years, first opening its doors in 1969. Studio Beauty School thanked Glen Dow for its service to Spokane.
"Their dedication and hard work have truly made a difference in our community, and have inspired our beauty industry for decades," Studio Beauty School said in a social media post.
The post did not specify why the decision was made to close the school.
