SPOKANE, Wash. — One woman is now dead after a shooting on Hamilton St. near Gonzaga University.

Spokane Police Department (SPD) said four people were involved in the incident that led to the woman's death. Officials arrested 18-year-old Christopher Gimmaka, 18-year-old Kayden Willoughby, 18-year-old Devin McEwen and one 16-year-old.

SPD charged all four people with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and assault.

According to SPD, the suspects were driving away from a shooting in northwest Spokane. SPD tried to stop the suspects, but they kept driving away and were eventually stopped near Hamilton St. The suspects reportedly threw items out of the car during the pursuit, including a gun.

SPD said a woman in the suspects' car was shot in the head. SPD said she was sent to a hospital to be treated but later died due to her injuries.

Police say a dispute over stolen property is what led to a shooting and chase.

The pursuit originally began on Market and Euclid with the suspected shooter allegedly trying to get away with stolen property. Police said the suspect fired multiple shots at a man who was allegedly trying to get his property back. He was not injured.

The woman's name will be released at a later time by the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office.
