Five people from Moscow hurt in crash near Othello

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened four miles west of Othello just after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.

OTHELLO, Wash. — Five people from Moscow, Idaho are in the hospital after the driver lost control of a car and rolled into a nearby ditch near Othello.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the crash happened just after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday on State Route 26 near milepost 36. That's about four miles west of Othello.

WSP said the driver lost control of the car on the icy road and swerved into the westbound lane, eventually rolling into a ditch.

WSP said all five people in the car are from Moscow, Idaho. WSP also said the passengers and the driver were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. It's also unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were involved. 

Ambulance crews transported all five people to hospitals in both Othello and Richland to be treated for their injuries. 

WSP said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
