Cornel Rasor, who tells KREM 2 News he owns the business but not the building, says it is a complete loss.

The fire started late Thursday night just after 10 p.m. and continued to burn early Friday morning.

He posted on Facebook, "It looks like someone set off a bottle rocket in the alleyway and it lit the power pole on fire which s[p}read to the building." The official cause has not yet been released.

On Friday morning, he shared photos of the damage inside and outside the store,

Strange to see it like this.

“This incident will be challenging to the property owner, and our thoughts are with him and his family," Sandpoint Mayor Jeremy Grimm said. "Beyond the loss of personal and business property, the resulting void left in our downtown will not be easily replaced."

There have been no reports of injuries from the fire.

Traffic will be impacted in the area as crews close a section of Fifth Avenue to clean up the area following the fire.

This is a developing story. KREM 2 News will update this story as we learn more information.
