COEUR D'ALENE -- Two fallen heroes have returned home after being killed in a road side explosion in Iraq. Both of them died July 7th.
The body of Sergeant Nathan Beyers arrived at Spokane International Airport Friday morning. Specialist Nicholas Newby landed at the Coeur d'Alene airport in the afternoon.
Kootenai County law enforcement officers and U.S. military officials escorted the remains of Specialist Newby from the Coeur d'Alene airport to Yates Funeral Home.
Services will be held at Lake Side Community Church on Ramsey Road in Coeur d'Alene. The program is open to the public and begins at 1 p.m. Saturday. You can also pay your respects to Specialist Newby across the street at Lake City High School where he went to school.
Individual services will take place Sunday and Monday in Spokane for Sgt. Beyers. Specialist Newby's funeral is set for Monday at Lake City Community Church.
Sergeant Beyers will be cremated and laid to rest Tuesday at the Washington State Veterans cemetery.
