Overnight house fire leaves 2 dead in Ephrata

First responders were called to a house fire around 8 p.m. where they discovered a trailer on fire.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Grant County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) announced two people died in a house fire near Ephrata overnight on Tuesday. 

According to a Facebook post by the GCSO, first responders were called to a house fire around 8 p.m. Crews on the scene found a trailer on fire with at least one person dead inside.  It was later determined that a second person died inside the home. 

GCSO is withholding victim's names until the next of kin is notified. 

Firefighters stayed on the scene overnight to find the second person's body.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the deadly fire.
