SPOKANE, Wash. — A Spokane vintage ice cream shop has reopened for the week of spring break.

Doyle's Ice Cream Parlor was previously closed for the winter season. When the shop closed back in November 2023, they posted on Facebook saying, "Thanks everyone for a great year."

On March 28, the shop's Facebook posted a graphic simply saying "Ice cream solves everything," teasing it's opening.

Only a few days later, on March 30, the shop said it would be opening Monday through Sunday for Spring break.

Doyle's Ice Cream Parlor is on West Boone Ave in Spokane, Wash. It is open this week from 3-8 p.m.

More to Every Story

According to Spokane Historical, the Doyle's Ice Cream Parlor has been serving the West Central neighborhood since 1940.

"Originally owned and run by Arthur Doyle, who opened his business at the age of 28, it regularly receives awards for best ice-cream in the area and is famous for its Huckleberry cone," the website said.

The parlor maintains a vintage feel as it has its original soda machine and antique ice cream equipment. Their menu includes treats like the classic banana split.

The building that the ice cream shop resides in was built in 1928 and was originally a barber shop and beauty salon.
