SPOKANE -- A popular Downtown Spokane restaurant and icon will soon close its doors. Cyrus O'Leary's will close on Sundayafter being in business for 31 years.
The owner for 28 of the 31 years said he is throwing in the towel for several reasons. He says fewer people are eating out and the property value has climbed since the lease agreement was signed in 1980. The property owner wants to do something more profitable with the land.
Some of the employees will be transferred to another restaurant, Tomato Street. The owner of Cyrus O'Leary's is looking to find jobs for 40 more staff members.
Loyal customers said they are shocked and saddened by the news.
