Customer hearings scheduled in Bonner County for proposed water utility rate increase

BLANCHARD, IDAHO, Idaho — The Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC) scheduled two customer hearings in October over CDS Stoneridge Utilities, LLC's proposed increase to rates and charges for providing water to customers.

CDS Stoneridge Utilities serves just under 400 residential and commercial customers in the Blanchard, Idaho area. The Utilities say they have invested over $900,000 in its system since 2019. 

They are asking IPUC to increase rates for customers by an average of 261% to recover the investment.

The hearings are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9 starting at 5 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 10 starting at 10 a.m. at the Blanchard Community Center. In person is required to submit testimony.

If you can't make it in person, IPUC is accepting written comments on the utility’s application until October 2, 2024. You can file those through the IPUC's website or by email, unless computer access is not available.

To submit comments online, go to the IPUC's website and click on the “Case Comment Form” link on the upper left side of the page. Then, use case number SWS-W-24-01 when filling out the form. If you submit a comment, be sure to include your name and address.
