SPRAGUE, Wash. — A crash on I-90 about 9 miles west of Sprague on Saturday morning left one man dead and another injured.

According to Washington State Patrol, an 89-year-old man was driving eastbound in the left lane of I-90 westbound and hit a car in the same lane traveling westbound around 4:45 a.m.

WSP says the 61-year-old driver of the car that was hit was killed in the crash. The 89-year-old was injured and taken to East Adams Rural Hospital.

Debris from the crash also hit another car in the right lane of westbound I-90. The driver was not injured and called authorities to the scene.

WSP says all drivers were wearing seatbelts and they do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the cause of the crash, but they are continuing to investigate.

WSP says the road was partially blocked until around 9 a.m. on Saturday.
