COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Beginning next week, Santa and the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department will be hitting the streets of CDA in their decked-out firetruck for a good cause. A firetruck transformed into Santa's sleigh hopes to collect cans of food for families in need all in the name of Christmas.
The annual mobile food drive hopes that neighbors will donate cans of food and cash when they hear Santa's sleigh approaching. The sleigh will be decked with festive Christmas lights and will play classic Christmas songs loudly for all to hear.
The schedule for this year is:
- December 17 – West of 7th St, South of Appleway
- December 18 – East of 7th St, South of Appleway
- December 19 – East of Highway 95, North of Appleway
- December 20 – West of Highway 95, North of Appleway, South of Kathleen
- December 21 – West of Highway 95, North of Kathleen, South of Hanley
- December 22 – West of Highway 95, East of Atlas Rd, North of Hanley, South of Prairie
- December 23 – West of Atlas Rd, North of Hanley Ave, South of Prairie
