Additional information

According to a press release, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) said they require all Washington licensed anglers to stop fishing for Chinook once they have reached their daily limit.

Adult Chinook are 24 inches in length or larger and jack Chinook are less than 24 inches in length.

Two-pole permits are not allowed during fishing.

When fishing in the Snake River in the area between Washington and Idaho, a person with a valid Washington fishing license may be able to fish in the Snake River where it forms a boundary between the two states.

Washington licensed anglers are subject to the Washington fishing rules and may not fish on the Idaho shore. This includes wading and may not fish sloughs or tributaries on the Idaho side.

All salmonids (salmon or steelhead) that are not kept as part of the daily limit must be released immediately.

You must record your catches of all fall Chinook, adults and jacks, on a catch record card when using your Washington fishing license.

Anglers are reminded to refer to the 2024-25 Washington Sport Fishing Rules Pamphlet for other rules and regulations.
