SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane can 'Eat more Chikin' with a new location opening near Gonzaga University.
New documents with the City of Spokane state that Chick-fil-A will build the new location on 104 E Mission Ave, where residential properties and vacant lots currently sit.
The proposed site will be 5,028 square feet with two drive-thru lanes. Documents submitted to the city suggest the Chick-fil-A location will bring 1,000 cars a day to the area.
Some residents in the area are not enthusiastic about the new addition. The branch could add more traffic to the area.
"It's just gonna bring in the flow from Division, Ruby and then Mission," said resident Cynthia Eaton-Wilson. "And that's like three main streets. And it's already bad enough here. It's just the traffic's terrible all over and it's increasing here in this area."
According to the City of Spokane, the new Chick-fil-A branch will bring in more revenue for the city through taxes. The branch will also reportedly improve property values on-site and in the surrounding area.
A completion date for the project has not been set.
