Burn bans across Washington State lifted by BLM

While burn bans are lifted in every county across WA on federal public lands, BLM is still reminding folks to take preventative measures to avoid wildfires.

SPOKANE, Wash. — On Tuesday, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lifted all fire restrictions on public lands managed by the agency for all counties in Washington State.

While these restrictions are now lifted, BLM is reminding to use caution when using motor vehicles on roads or trails with vegetation or high grasses.

BLM also asking campers to make sure all campfires are completely extinguished and cold before leaving a camping area.

Fireworks and exploding targets are still banned at any time on federal public lands due to their inherent fire hazard risk. Violators can be punished by a fine of up to $1,000 or imprisonment for up to one year, or both.
