CHENEY, Wash. — The 56th annual Cheney Rodeo rides in with fun for all ages starting on Friday, July 12.
The rodeo will take place at the Bi-Mart Arena. On Friday and Saturday, the gates open at 5 p.m. for attendees to wander through the food trucks and local vendors.
At 7 p.m. the festivities begin. The rodeo will have a lineup of events including bareback riding, a kids balloon stampede and bull riding.
On Friday night and Saturday night a dance party will be held until 2 a.m. Tickets are an additional $5 at the door and party-goers will enjoy live music from the “Out West Band.”
On Saturday morning the rodeo will also host the downtown Cheney rodeo parade from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The parade will go down 1st Street, beginning at K Street and ending on Cocolalla Street. There will also be vendors set up at the Cheney Federal Credit Union parking lot and on College Avenue and live music from Dallas Kay Music before the parade from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
On Friday and Saturday, tickets are $35 per person. Children three and under get free admission.
Sunday events will occur earlier in the day, beginning with Cowboy Church at 9 a.m. and the Rascal Rodeo, an opportunity for those with physical and developmental disabilities to partake in the rodeo, begins at 10 a.m. Registration for the Rascal Rodeo can be completed here.
Main day rodeo events on Sunday open at 2 p.m. for access to food trucks and vendors and festivities begin at 4 p.m.
On Sunday, tickets are $30, and children 12 and under are $20. Children three and under get free admission. Tickets for any of the three days can be purchased at the Cheney Rodeo’s website.
There will be free parking at the venue for those with tickets.
The Cheney Rodeo has a clear bag policy in place for the event and asks that attendees leave coolers, outside beverages and pets at home.
