SPOKANE, Wash. — If you're shopping around for one-of-a-kind gifts this holiday season, the third annual 33 Artists Market at The Hive invites you to check out handcrafted goods made by local artists.

Founded by local artist Gwyn Pevonka in November 2022, the 33 Artists Market was born out of a passion for bringing artists together and giving them an accessible platform to sell their work.

“The Hive holds a special place in my heart because it’s where my journey in Spokane began. After moving here, I visited The Hive and immediately knew I wanted to be involved. I was fortunate to receive an artist residency, and the 33 Artists Market was one of my first projects during that time. It’s incredible to see how far it’s come, having provided opportunities to 211 local artists, and I’m thrilled to host it at The Hive once again,” said Pevonka.

In past years, the market has drawn over 1,000 visitors to view the local wares. The event showcases a wide variety of locally made treasures including jewelry, original paintings, prints, clothing, book arts, pottery and more.

This year’s market will feature interactive activities such as an art scavenger hunt with prizes. It’s a free, family-friendly event, perfect for discovering unique gifts and goodies. Visitors can also enjoy food and coffee for purchase from local vendors.

“One of the key highlights of the 33 Artists Market is its commitment to artist empowerment,” said Eva Silverstone, Spokane Public Library Arts Education Specialist. “Unlike many markets, this event does not charge a booth fee or take a commission from artists, meaning 100% of the purchase price goes directly to the creators.”

The 33 Artists Market at The Hive is on Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about the event and its location, click here
