Killer sentenced to 10 years for Sharlotte McGill murder

According to court documents, Avondre Graham admitted to investigators he hit Sharlotte McGill with a large rock and stabbed her to death.

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Accused killer Avondre Grahampleaded guilty to Second-DegreeMurder in court Thursday in Spokane.

Police arrested then 17-year-oldAvondre Grahamin September 2012, three monthsafter the victim was stabbed in broad daylight while walking her dog along Tuffy's Trail. It runs more than three miles along the Spokane River, starting near Mission and Hamilton and until Greene Street.

Victim Sharlotte McGill managed to give police a description of her attacker in May 2012. She died a short time later.

According to court documents,Graham admitted to investigators he hit McGill with a large rock and stabbed her to death.They also show that he had attacked another woman a few months later, which led to his arrest.

He will serve 123 months in prison, or a little over 10 years.
