KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — Kootenai County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) is looking for a missing woman last seen in Old Mission State Park on Sunday, June 16. It is said by the woman's family that she has dementia.
KCSO responded to Old Mission State Park in Cataldo to find 62-year-old Linda Kent just before 9 p.m.
In a press release, the sheriff's office said that Mrs. Kent's family reported that she went missing while visiting the park. She was last seen near the boat launch.
Linda Kent is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall. She weighs approximately 180 pounds and has silver hair. She was last seen wearing a pink hoodie with green pants. The family of Mrs. Kent states that she suffers from dementia, and may not initially respond if contacted.
Deputies have utilized drones, search and rescue dogs, infrared (FLIR), and watercraft in attempts to locate Linda Kent. KCSO's Volunteer Search and Rescue were dispatched to the scene to help locate Mrs. Kent's whereabouts.
Searchers spent most of Monday combing the area surrounding the Old Mission in Cataldo in search of Kent.
"She went up to the restroom," Sergeant Ryan Miller with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, said. "She went up a few times, and this last time, she just didn't return.”
Miller said they are taking a break overnight with plans to reevaluate their options Tuesday morning. Miller said there is a possibility that Kent may have been picked up by someone driving on I-90 nearby.
